Welcome to our place!

Ashtey Khayil (Women of Valor) is the women’s organization of Aydat HaDerekh Messianic Synagogue located in Fort Myers, Florida. Together we are learning to fulfil the mitzvot through keeping a Jewish home and observing the Moedim. Our homes affect our communities, and our communities affect our homes; Judaism is to be lived, not visited!

Ashtey Khayil Talmidot is our study group.  Our monthly ZOOM meetings focus on understanding the prayers and readings in our siddur.  When we use a siddur during services we don’t always have the time to do more than sight read; our goal in Ashtey Khayil Talmidot is to take the time to pause and reflect on the prayers and readings – to truly appreciate the words we are speaking to HaShem.

We use two different siddurim: the Koren Siddur (Ashkenaz) and the ArtScroll Interlinear Siddur (Ashkenaz).  You do not have to use those particular siddurim, as the Hebrew is basically the same among most siddurim – the primary difference is in the page numbering (due to footnotes and commentaries), which may be a minor inconvenience during our studies if you’re unfamiliar with the layout of your siddur.

We currently have two meetings each month; on the 2nd Wednesday after each Rosh Ḥodesh @ 6:30pm ET (USA) and then the next morning on Thursday @ 10:30am ET (USA).  We welcome discussion, so for everyone’s comfort and privacy our meetings are not recorded. The two meeting times are to accommodate attendees from different time zones; you need only attend one.

If you would like to join our meetings please contact us via email at info@AshteyKhayil.com and we will add you to our attendee list. A few days prior to each meeting we will email you the ZOOM link along with .pdf’s of any handouts. We look forward to studying with you!
